What was the highlight of Sotogrande Hotel and Resort

Our stay in Sotogrande at May/June 2023

I liked the room with 2 big double beds, the location near Mactan Newtown (looks safe), then the possibility to use Vistamar beach and pool (ckeaner than LaMirada). But it will be good, if the hotel will offer some free van or something like that, so the acommodants can be transfered in some near place (at least). Unfortunately they didnt offered anything like this, needed to ride the local type of transportation.

I realy dont like the internet connection. On the room only for 2 devices and very poor. In comparison with stay in Boracay, we had there very stable internet and no limited devices. I also dont like the La Mirada pool (its possible to use it, but i will realy not recommend that), which was very dirty and seems no maintainance. 7 years ago, it was very good pool, now very poor.

Our honeymoon while staying there was wonderful.

I liked the room we stayed at, the view is overlooking. It’s so wonderful experience staying there for our honeymoon. We’ll definitely come back there.

The internet is not really good. Especially in the 6 flr. Area Hope you do something to improve the reception.

It was quite good but hard to access the restaurant and the beach and swimming pool.

Breakfast was good.

Toilet very slow to flush and the bathtub was very deep. Dangerous for seniors and disabled customers.

Beach location, poor amenities and services

The reception staff and food service was good and helpful. Security was good.

The location is far from local shops and attractions. The gym is dirty and unkept, old machinery that is unserviceable. The doorman was rude The room service was poor, we stayed 8 nights and the last 4 days our room wasn't cleaned or freshen up. Lacking service and cleanliness. Expensive for the money, I would suggest try another hotel.

Pleasant enough but wouldn’t go back.

Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Room was spacious. Nice pool.

The room was not very clean. A lot of dust on the shelves and around the tea caddy. There were absolutely no restaurants, bars or shops nearby, despite being advertised as such. There was no wifi anywhere except in the lobby.

I preferred staying here as it was quiet and great value for money, Newtown noisy with construction

A wonderful 5 nights to lay by the two pools and enjoy the local beers, cocktails and delicious food available assisted by exceptional staff. Breakfast was a generous serving and the room was a good size with a lovely view of the water and surroundings from the balcony. Classic old style architecture in the original building around the pool and restaurant area and represented good value for money An easy 15 minute walk into Newtown for me or quick taxi or scooter ride for cafes and other varieties to eat for both modern and traditional/local tastes. This area provided ATMs and banks plus a supermarket and 7-11 convenience stores plus laundromats for washing clothes

The hot water pressure in the shower was a little disappointing and took a while to adjust and heat up to desired temperature . Showers over a bath too seem to be quite a dangerous trip hazard and a thing of the past. A walk in shower would be a better option. Accidently broke a cheap small glass in the bathroom after it slipped off the wet sink area and was charged a ridiculous 250 peso for damage (the price of a taxi ride). No clothes washing facilities/options and no wifi in the room.

What was the highlight of Sotogrande Hotel and Resort

We stayed at this hotel as a layover to catch another flight and had two nights. It is located about 30 minutes from the Cebu airport and a great place to stay if you are connecting through Cebu but want to be close to the water. It is also on Mactan Island and very close to the MovenPick and other resorts.

The hotel is a little old and the rooms that didn't seem very modern. The balconies were non existent as they had air conditioners on them and no chairs or anything else. The staff were not friendly or helpful and the food was okay. The worse part is the pool which is actually another building and very old and you need to bring towels from the hotel. However, they did have access to a small beach that was very nice. This also seemed to be a tour hotel with many buses of people staying. If you are willing to get out and take a taxi to other places then great. Overall I would not choose to stay here again for more then a night or two.

The space : the room was big and great (but I was upgraded to a suite) and very clean. Nice bed

It’s really far from everything ! And the “beach” is not a beach. Some square meters of sand under a balcony ! So if you go there for the beach, avoid this hotel !

I like the beach it was clean and refreshing. The staff were very nice

The power went out and 3 of us were in the elevator that's the scary part the staffs were unable to help us out. Good thing my boyfriend figured out the location of the emergency button. With this situation no one else there has trained for safety precautions. The management should provide course of safety precautions for their staff.

The room is big.

Firstly, we paid the hotel by credit card. However, the staff didn’t ask us to pay by peso or hkd. She just charged with hk dollars and I ended up paying 70 hkd more. Secondly, WiFi didn’t work in the room. And we hardly find plugs to charge our phones ( usually in hotels the plugs are nx to your bed. Painting in the walls are peeling off, the water from the bath tub is brown Color..... The hotel claimed that they are 4 stars hotel. Defiantly the service and amenities of the hotel not rated for 4 stars. As a business traveller, I highly NOT recommend to stay here

Good things People friendly, got a great upgrade to suite, roomy lobby, Good location for us . Bad things.. Restaurant for breakfast was good but otherwise would not go. Service lousy and food was not of good value .yuk At the pool was a strong sewage smell , both days . Come on clean it up whatever it is . No excuses

The Breakfast was good, and the staff was very nice and Helpful. The beds are extremely comfortable.

The hotel feels old and needs renovation, When we first opened the water in the shower the water came out brown. In addition, the pools are far away and one of them is in a different hotel and it is not clearly mentioned anywhere.

Very comfortable room, excellent and helpful staff. You can book island hopping with lunch and snorkelling just next door. You can make a cebu city tour or other tours with the reception staff. You can swim at the beach, safe and clear water. Must try island hopping, its a must.

I liked everything and have no complaints and its money worth.

It was a lovely area and the staff was so friendly and really helped us with all our questions. It’s a nice place to relax and enjoy tours.

The room was dirty, had bugs, leaking AC machine, broken room card and poor TV quality and the rugs were stained. The bed was not a King sized bed as promoted. There was no WiFi in the bedroom.

View from my room is nice, Sea View and it is near the beach. Staffs are helpful.

Wifi is not so good. As it is situated in the compound of three hotels (Soto Grande, Lamirada and Vistar Mar Beach Resorts), it is too far from the main road and cannot get taxi easily. only request hotel reception to book a car and it cost 100 peso more to pick me up. Breakfast and foods in the hotel restaurant are bad.

everything about the place and the room is excellent. The staff specially David (if I got his name right) are very very nice.

I can't watch anything on the TV. The image are not watchable. They are distorted which appeared to be due to the cable signal.
